Castagno D’Andrea (Municipality of San Godenzo – Florence) is a climatic health resort at 725 meters above sea level and 7 km from San Godenzo; it is one of the most evocative places of the central-northern Apennines and is the birthplace of the painter Andrea del Castagno, great artist of the Florentine Renaissance.

It is inside the National Park of the Casentinesi Forests, Monte Falterona and Campigna, established in 1993, which extends for 36,843 hectares between the provinces of Forlì and Arezzo. The highest peak is Mount Falco 1658 m. above sea level.

In 2017 the UNESCO Commission has included the Park as a World Heritage Site. The Castagno d’Andrea Visitor Center “Monte Falterona” is one of the eleven Park structures at the service of the visitor.
